When HPLC Fails: SFC Saves the Day

Case A – Solubility barrier

A compound’s solubility prevented HPLC analysis. We used a DCM/MeOH mix and transitioned to analytical SFC (UPC²).

  • Excellent peak shape
  • Retention time adapted for preparative scale
  • Seamless handoff to prep-SFC

Case B – Apolar compound tailing in RP-HPLC

The compound produced tailing peaks under reverse-phase HPLC. Switched to achiral SFC, improving both separation and speed.
