Can rodent kidney models really simulate the clinic?

With Dr Wioletta Pijacka, Study Director, In vivo pharmacology, Sygnature Discovery

Chronic kidney diseases remain a major unmet clinical need. Animal models are used to evaluate the therapeutic potential of novel candidate drugs, however developing animal models with strong predictive validity remains a challenge. Due to the complexity of human renal pathologies, it is imperative that the nuances of each model are taken into careful consideration to ensure the best chance of success.
