However, <strong>weight loss alone does not reveal whether a therapy is delivering meaningful metabolic benefits.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For obesity therapies, it is increasingly important to understand whether weight loss is driven by reductions in fat mass while preserving lean muscle and physical function. Due to our integrated discovery pathway, <em>in vivo<\/em> Pharmacology joins the conversation earlier in the process. This early involvement provides key data that helps our customers identify the most promising candidates sooner. Thus, focusing subsequent effort on molecules that are the most likely to succeed in the clinic. Thereby reducing development risk, avoiding unnecessary investment, and accelerating program progression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To demonstrate the power of our integrated workflow, our team evaluated the metabolic effects of Tirzepatide, a dual GLP-1\/GIP receptor agonist, in a DIO mouse model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our study combined multiple, complementary endpoints, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Body weight monitoring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food and water intake assessment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Body composition analysis (DEXA)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ex vivo tissue weight (heart, liver, skeletal muscle, brain, and kidney) measurements<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Histological assessment of skeletal and cardiac muscle<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grip strength test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Locomotor activity analysis<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This approach provided a detailed whole-body assessment of treatment effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-blue-600-color has-text-color has-link-color has-text-xl-font-size wp-elements-cdb314cbd33912a215837d27bc22cf92\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);margin-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30)\"><strong>Key Findings<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tirzepatide treatment produced significant reductions in body weight (Figure 1a) and food intake in obese mice (Figure 1b).
