Senior/Principal Scientist Translational Oncology – Alderley Park

Senior/Principal Scientists within the Translational Oncology Department at Sygnature Discovery play an essential role in supporting drug discovery projects using specialist oncology disease models and ex-vivo biomarker platforms.

The growing department is looking for a talented Senior/Principal Scientist to join the team at Alderley Park to focus on the development of preclinical biomarker platforms and biomarker strategies.

As a member of the team, you will join a dynamic department actively supporting the discovery of new drugs for a broad range of projects and molecular targets, whilst also working across a wide range of therapeutic modalities.

Essential requirements:

  • Life Science PhD or equivalent
  • Proven track record of drug discovery expertise and project leadership gained within the CRO, pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
  • Expertise in molecular and cellular biology and their application to ex-vivo biomarker analysis.
  • Expertise in methodologies such as flow cytometry, transcriptomics/genomics and proteomics
  • Ability to interpret and problem solve complex data sets
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and under pressure adapting to evolving project needs.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to collaborate with internal and external cross functional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Keen eye for detail and concern for standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team
  • Excellent record keeping skills
  • Individual should be self-motivated and enthusiastic
