Industrial Placements at Sygnature Discovery
The first big step in your Drug Discovery career
Sygnature Discovery is an award-winning provider of fully-integrated drug discovery research programmes to the global pharmaceutical industry. In August 2020 we will be taking on Industrial Placement students who will be immersed into working life at Sygnature over the course of a 12-month placement. You will get real responsibility from the very beginning with a dedicated mentor to help develop and utilise your knowledge in our world class laboratory and office facility in the centre of Nottingham.
DMPK & PHYSICAL SCIENCES
Sygnature’s DMPK department provides the opportunity to work with experienced research scientists providing specialist ADME, Bioanalytical and Pharmacokinetics support to client projects. To gain experience in this growing field, applicants are expected to be studying either Biology, Chemistry or a similar discipline at undergraduate level.
A Bioscience placement at Sygnature provides exposure to research using a wide variety of assays, ranging from biophysics and enzymology to cell imaging, within a growing and highly respected team. Working in various therapeutic areas in small molecule and biologics-based drug discovery, our Bioscientists play a key role in providing the integrated projects that we are renowned for. Applicants should be studying Biology or a related discipline at undergraduate level.
Sygnature is home to one of the UK’s largest medicinal chemistry groups with a proven track record for providing high quality training through our industrial placement program. In addition to having their own dedicated industrial supervisor for the duration of the year-long placement, successful candidates will also be afforded the opportunity to work alongside and learn from our dedicated team of scientists with extensive experience in every stage of the drug discovery process. Candidates can expect to work on live projects from the outset, with continual opportunities to develop and apply creative approaches to problem solving. The opportunity to attend regular seminars with industry leaders and academic collaborators is also provided to further assist in the broader development of our recruits. Applicants should be studying Chemistry at undergraduate level.
