Graduate opportunities for In vitro DMPK Scientists – Alderley Park

This growing department is looking for talented graduates to join it’s in vitro DMPK team in Alderley Park, Cheshire.

Based on the UK’s largest single site life science campus, you will join a dynamic department actively discovering new drugs for a broad range of projects, molecular targets and therapeutic indications.  You will work within interdisciplinary teams, on behalf of a variety of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • To plan and execute in vitro DMPK studies to understand the absorption, metabolism, distribution, and excretion (ADME) of drug candidates e.g., hepatocyte stability, LogD7.4, plasma protein binding, Cytochrome P450 inhibition/induction, Caco-2 permeability.
  • You will support the analysis, interpretation, QC check and reporting of in vitro discovery DMPK data.
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental data, generating reports as required.
  • Involvement in assay development/continuous improvement as required.
  • Build strong, effective working relationships with the internal team and clients where applicable.
  • You will independently apply basic DMPK scientific principles, attend scientific meetings, and keep abreast of DMPK literature.

 

Key requirements:

  • Sc., M.Sc. and/or Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or related disciplines with some knowledge of absorption, distribution, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics
  • Experience of quantitative LC-MS/MS techniques as well as basic troubleshooting is desirable.
  • Some biotech and/or pharmaceutical industry experience would be an advantage, however, a strong desire to build a career in this sector is essential.
  • Flexible approach to work, able to deal with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
