Chemistry Graduate Trainee Programme

Chemistry Graduate Training Programme

Build your career in Drug Discovery

Sygnature Discovery is an award-winning provider of fully-integrated drug discovery expertise to the global pharmaceutical industry. We actively engage in all stages of the drug discovery process, from hit identification, hit-to-lead and lead optimisation, as well as participating in complete and multi-disciplinary drug discovery programmes. Our core capabilities, to date, include medicinal chemistry, in vitro bioscience, computational sciences and informatics, DMPK/physical sciences as well as dedicated project management services.

We are home to one of the UK’s largest synthetic and medicinal chemistry groups, whose experience and enthusiasm make us ideally placed to provide our extensive international network of clients and collaborators with the cutting-edge scientific expertise and intellectual input they need to propel their drug discovery projects forward.

With the continuing success we have enjoyed with our Graduate Recruitment Programme in recent years, we are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening the programme once again in 2020. Successful candidates, commencing their employment between July and September 2020, can expect to be given real responsibility on live projects from the outset. Your own dedicated scientific mentor will be there at all times to help you acclimatise to life in an industrial setting, whilst also working closely with you to further develop and apply your knowledge in our brand-new purpose-built facility, situated in the vibrant centre of Nottingham.

By joining us here in the medicinal chemistry group at Sygnature, you will have the opportunity to work alongside, and learn from, our dedicated team of scientists with extensive experience in every stage of the drug discovery process. You will have continual opportunities to develop and apply creative approaches to problem solving, both within the lab and during bespoke training sessions. You will also be invited to attend regular seminars with industry leaders and academic collaborators to further assist in your broader scientific development.

Your anticipated participation in regular progress reviews will ensure that the ongoing support and training you receive can be dynamically tailored to your individual needs, helping you to become a confident and independent lab-based scientist by the end of the programme’s initial probationary period of 6-9 months. After this time, we seek to reward suitable candidates with either contract extension or, preferably, the offer of a permanent position within our growing department. We also offer very competitive salary and benefits packages, alongside great opportunities for future personal and career growth.

Applicants should have achieved a minimum 2:1 in a Chemistry-focussed degree prior to their expected start date. Further study at MSc or MRes level, would be advantageous, as well as previous work experience in a relevant science sector.

If you are interested in joining a successful, engaged and award-winning company that places its people at the heart of its business, please apply through the link below including the following;
