Associate Director (Oncology Biomarkers) – Alderley Park

We are looking for a biomarker specialist with extensive experience to join our Translational Oncology team in Alderley Park, Cheshire.

With a background in drug discovery biomarker development, the Associate Director, Oncology Biomarkers will be responsible for growing and developing Sygnature’s oncology biomarker group.  You will be an expert in your field with experience of developing and validating biomarker assays across multiple platforms, supporting client projects from early discovery to clinical development. You will have the opportunity to lead and grow a team within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Reporting directly to the Director of Translational Oncology, you will require significant senior industry experience combined with a strategic understanding of best-in-class external drug discovery practice.

Key requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant expertise in project/experimental biomarker strategy design and strategic oversight.
  • You will have a broad background of leading biomarker strategies for drug discovery projects gained within a pharmaceutical company or a CRO, with significant industry drug discovery experience.
  • You will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, and be able to lead, manage and strategically grow the Oncology Biomarker team at Alderley Park.
  • You will be able to successfully collaborate with cross-functional, and cross-site partners (Chemistry, Bioscience, DMPK) to define strategies for drug discovery programmes.
  • Undertake high-level interactions with our clients and other stakeholders.
  • Be able to generate quotes, formal reports and the present findings to clients and key stakeholders.
