Associate Director (Translational Oncology ) – Alderley Park

We are looking for an Associate Director with extensive experience to join our Translational Oncology team in Alderley Park, Cheshire.

With a background in drug discovery, you will be an expert in your field with significant experience of the use of pharmacology models in drug discovery, supporting client projects from early discovery/target validation to candidate drug selection and life cycle management. You will join a dynamic, actively growing department, discovering new drugs across oncology indications using a range of therapeutic modalities.

Reporting directly to the Director of Translational Oncology, you will require significant senior industry experience combined with a strategic understanding of best-in-class external drug discovery practice.

Key requirements:

  • PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant expertise in the use of in vivo pharmacology models and building PK/PD/efficacy relationships in the oncology drug discovery setting.
  • You will have significant industry experience of leading drug discovery projects gained within a pharmaceutical company or a CRO.
  • You will support the recruitment and retention of key talent to maintain a high-performing team and be involved in the strategic direction of Translational Oncology at Sygnature.
  • You will possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Be able to contribute to the leadership, management and strategic growth of the team at Alderley Park.
  • You will be able to successfully collaborate with cross-functional, and cross-site partners (Chemistry, Bioscience, DMPK) to define strategies for drug discovery programmes.
  • You will represent Translational Oncology as the subject matter expert on Sygnature Discovery’s client project teams creating relationships with internal colleagues and clients.
  • Be able to support business development activities.
